We were invited on the exciting #ThisisQueensland blog trip with Visit Queensland touring around Australia’s dazzling northeastern corner. With days of endless sunshine, gorgeous coastal towns and some of the finest beaches in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s an extraordinarily beautiful region which would easily top a list of the most photogenic places in the world. For the first week, we spent our time exploring some of the region’s highlights – the cosmopolitan beach town of Noosa, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland – a tranquil place filled with pretty towns and spectacular vistas and Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world known for its brilliant blue freshwater lakes, crystalline creeks, sculpted coloured sands, lush rain forests and even its own striking shipwreck.
We ended our first week on Lady Elliot Island, a tiny, highly protected coral cay and one of the most extraordinary places we’ve ever seen. Located at the southern tip of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef it’s home to over 1,200 species of marine life including manta rays and endangered turtles. We spent our days snorkelling with colourful fish and highly endangered turtles and gawping at the unspoilt coral reef. Here are our favourite Queensland beauty spots, in BIG pictures…
