Known as being one of the most beautiful beaches in the state of Oregon, this quiet, charming, and laid-back little town is a much-loved stop along the Pacific Highway. Now you just need to find yourself a gem of a place to stay, so from cute and intimate boutique inns to modern and trendy, here are my favorite cool and unique hotels in Cannon Beach, Oregon…
Inn at Cannon Beach
One of my favorite places to stay is this gorgeous, garden-based Cannon Beach hotel. I love that they offer complimentary passes to state-of-the-art fitness and yoga facilities. While visiting this wonderful establishment, I learned that it was the creation of two community-driven men determined to make their dream a reality.
Their dream was to build a peaceful community home to nurture incoming visitors’ sense of replenishment and discovery, providing them with a luscious environment. Their design exudes a warm sense of Northwest hospitality and a celebration of nature.
While staying at this delightful Cannon Beach hotel, I found that the majority of the rooms are arranged around a shared central courtyard and naturalized pond. It’s such a serene spot where guests like me come to share our stories with like-minded travelers. I often enjoyed reading a novel in a quaint spot under a tree or spending an afternoon sun-lazing in Adirondack chairs in the company of cute bunnies.
This family-friendly boutique hotel is located at the south end of Cannon Beach, just one short residential block from the ocean. It’s the perfect place for guests to build bonfires and indulge in some delicious s’mores. I can’t recommend this place enough!

The Ocean Lodge, Cannon Beach’s premier oceanfront hotel, quickly became one of my favorite places to unwind. While visiting this charming retreat, I experienced life slowing down, treasured simple pleasures, and created lifelong memories.
I love this place’s quirky beach vibe interiors, and the spectacular architecture left me in awe. The exceptional oceanfront location was the perfect backdrop for my memorable stay, and it was all complemented by a caring staff culture with incredible attention to detail.
While staying at The Ocean Lodge, I couldn’t help but admire the sloping rooflines and surrounding verandas, which hinted at a 1940s-era beach resort. The grand, rough-hewn Douglas fir wood beams, the two-story wood-burning fireplace, and the hand-blown glass chandelier in the breakfast room added to the whimsical charm of this hotel.
I tried out their oceanfront studio rooms, partial view studios, pet-friendly studios, and suites, and each one exceeded my expectations. They all came stocked with a wet bar, a gas fireplace, a complimentary DVD library, and a walk-in shower. And let’s not forget, select rooms even had Jacuzzis and offered awe-inspiring views of the shoreline’s sunset.
The Ocean Lodge’s extraordinary reputation for warmth, hospitality, and excellence was evident in every aspect of my stay. I was welcomed with a complimentary glass of wine at check-in, indulged in free cookies and coffee in the quaint lobby, and found solace in their cozy library full of books and games. This place truly knows how to make guests feel special.

While staying at this fabulous retreat, I tried rooms available for every whim and budget. I was impressed with their well-equipped luxury amenities and spectacular views, which explain why many guests return year after year.
During my stay, I had the opportunity to revitalize in true tranquillity at ‘Elements by the Sea,’ the resort’s lavish spa experience. I enjoyed the swirl spas, saunas, massages, hydrotherapy, facials, and more.
I was delighted to find that the resort welcomes furry friends, too. It’s dotted with pet exercise areas complete with wash-down stations and treats. What’s even better is that a portion of the pet fees goes to local animal shelters. It’s a win-win for everyone.

The serene spa suite, complete with an electric fireplace, caught my eye immediately. I tried out the smartly designed kitchen and felt right at home. The delightful living area, featuring a 42-inch TV, was the ideal spot for unwinding.

I also hiked to one of the gorgeous picnic spots nearby, a mere stone’s throw away. And for someone who loves exploring, the easy access to fancy galleries and restaurants in one of Oregon Coast’s most charming towns was a big plus.
After spending the day watching the waves crash into shore and biking around the nearby Ecola State Park, I couldn’t wait to return to the Inn. Cannon Beach Hotel Collection
During my visit to Cannon Beach, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this charming collection of boutique guesthouses. Whether it’s a family trip or a romantic getaway, I found genuine hospitality and local charm at every turn.
My journey began with the revival of a local B&B, which has now blossomed into four unique hotels that have garnered an impressive array of accolades. The original Cannon Beach Hotel, the Courtyard, the old-fashioned motor court known as ‘McBee Cottages,’ and the rustic, cabin-like ‘Hearthstone Inn’ all exuded luxury with their well-appointed amenities. I tried the gas fireplaces, appreciated the convenience of kitchenettes, and indulged in clawfoot bathtubs, all showcasing unparalleled attention to detail.
What I found most appealing was the diverse range of room styles, each designed to be a ‘Restful Oasis by the Shore.’ They catered to all types of travelers, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay.
Each of these hotels has a rich history of its own, and they are conveniently situated, allowing me to explore the charming downtown area, the nearby beach, and the local boutique shops and restaurants. While staying at this place, I experienced the perfect setting for my Cannon Beach adventure, making it one of my favorite places to stay on the Oregon coast.

Set in the rugged nature of the Oregon Coast, The Waves is one of my favorite places. I love this beautifully charismatic and attentively crafted oceanfront lodging, which provides the most stunning, exclusive backdrop to an elegant photoshoot.
While visiting this locally owned and family-operated lodging, I experienced accommodations to meet every budget, from romantic studios to large family suites to classic cottages. Most of its 40 spacious rooms come with fireplace kitchens and are specially designed and strategically positioned to offer the optimum Ocean View from the private deck.
While staying at The Waves, I tried curling up next to the fireplace and relishing the magnificent Oregon Coast scenery, gazing out over the rocks fronting Ecola State Park, or venturing around the many specialty stores and chic dining opportunities that embellish the village area. It was an unforgettable experience.

Haystack Views Vacation Rental
Haystack Views Vacation Rental is one of my favorite places, and I love this highly privileged experience it offers. While visiting, I experienced timeless elegance tailored to the demands of our time, with comfort, friendliness, and tranquillity combined in perfect harmony.

While staying at the place, I couldn’t help but admire the vaulted ceilings and the gourmet kitchen that bolstered the home’s upscale atmosphere. The luxury outdoor hot tub was a delightful addition, inviting guests to unwind peacefully in the fresh air.
What I particularly loved was that the home is located just south of downtown Cannon Beach, within walking distance of the shops, galleries, and restaurants. Yet, it’s remote enough to immerse yourself in the graceful surroundings. While staying here, I explored the oceanic photo opportunities and the tide pools at Haystack Rock, which were likewise just a short walk from the home. This place truly offers an unforgettable coastal experience.
