The 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa quickly became one of my favorite places, drawing in history buffs, paranormal investigators, and those seeking a soothing retreat in a truly unusual and dramatic environment.

Nestled atop the Ozark Mountains, this luxurious hotel is surrounded by 15 acres of enchanting gardens and forests, with a charming residential neighborhood just beyond its boundaries. You’ll be delighted to know that downtown Eureka Springs is a mere 15-minute walk away.

During my stay at this splendid establishment, I explored the beautifully kept Victorian-era hamlet featuring quaint stores and restaurants, as well as captivating attractions like the Intrigue Theatre, Eureka Springs Auditorium, and St. Elizabeth Church. The chapel at St. Elizabeth Church is an impressive replica of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, adding to the charm of the town. For lovers of American roadside kitsch like me, the Frog Fantasies Museum, boasting a collection of 7000 frogs, is just a convenient nine-minute walk from the hotel.

I couldn’t resist taking a four-minute drive to witness the steam engines of the Eureka Springs and North Arkansas Railway, while the Christ of the Ozarks sculpture was just a short nine-minute drive away. For nature enthusiasts, the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is about a 16-minute walk or a quick four-minute drive from the hotel.

The 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa goes above and beyond to cater to its guests. They even provide information on renting various boats for Lake Leatherwood, a scenic 15-minute drive away. Travelers will appreciate that it’s only 55 minutes from Boone County Regional Airport and an hour and 20 minutes from the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport.

Nevertheless, I must mention that some rooms showed signs of wear and tear calling for updates. The main hotel’s bathrooms, although spacious with beautiful tile floors and pedestal sinks, featured showers inside footed tubs that were often chipped and in need of reglazing. Fortunately, the amenities were thoughtful, including flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, coffee and tea-making facilities, irons, ironing boards, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

If you’re more inclined towards a contemporary setting, the cottages are the way to go. They come equipped with complete kitchens, dining, and living areas with cozy fireplaces, and authentic mission-style furniture. The private decks offer a breathtaking mountain view, perfect for unwinding. The bathrooms in the cottages are more modern, featuring tub-shower combinations and sleek fixtures.

A highlight of my stay was experiencing the must-do ghost tours offered by the hotel. The supernatural charm was captivating and unforgettable. On-site, you’ll also find a comprehensive spa with 12 treatment rooms, a hair salon, a sauna, and a wedding party beauty area. For a refreshing dip, the seasonal outdoor pool is surrounded by a sundeck with comfortable loungers and a relaxing hot tub.

When it comes to dining, the hotel offers a delightful array of choices. The exquisite Crystal Dining Room, available for dinner during the week and serving breakfast daily, was a culinary delight. For a more relaxed atmosphere, the Sky Bar Gourmet Pizza was my go-to, serving up delicious pizzas, appetizers, and beverages with a view. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, Crescent Confections has a delectable selection of ice cream and desserts.

The hotel also boasts a charming gift shop in the lobby, selling boho items and unique souvenirs. Additionally, they provide conference and meeting spaces and a bright, delicate conservatory for special occasions, such as weddings.

Throughout the year, the hotel offers a variety of activities for children and even hosts a camp, depending on the season. The 24-hour open lobby includes a concierge for your convenience, and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to downtown. Plus, you can stay connected with free Wi-Fi available throughout the entire hotel.

Beaver Lake Cottages became one of my favorite places during my recent trip to the United States. Nestled near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, it’s the ultimate escape for anyone seeking tranquility and natural beauty. While visiting this serene retreat, I fell in love with its picturesque surroundings, cozy accommodations, and an array of local activities.

My stay at Beaver Lake Cottages was an absolute delight. The hotel’s location is a stone’s throw away from the historic center of Eureka Springs. I strolled through the charming Victorian-era town, admiring the restored architecture, exploring unique shops art galleries, and savoring delicious dining options.

Just a short drive from the hotel, I experienced the ethereal Thorncrown Chapel. This magnificent glass and wood chapel in the woods provided the perfect setting for quiet reflection and meditation, making it a must-visit spot.

For a taste of adventure, I hopped on The Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway and journeyed across the mesmerizing Ozark Mountains. When I was in the mood for outdoor fun, Beaver Lake, with its 28,000 acres of crystal-clear water, offered a range of activities, from fishing and boating to swimming, ensuring that my days were filled with excitement.

Rustic furniture, earthy tones, and nature-inspired accessories created a calming atmosphere. The use of natural elements like wood and stone further enhanced the overall rustic charm, making me feel right at home.

Each cottage was thoughtfully designed with guest comfort in mind. My cozy haven featured a fully equipped kitchenette, a sumptuously comfortable mattress, a spacious bathroom, and a warm sitting area. It was the perfect setup for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The outdoor areas of Beaver Lake Cottages provided breathtaking views of Beaver Lake and the surrounding woodlands. I spent my days fishing, boating, and hiking along scenic trails. In the evenings, I savored the warmth of the fireplace and the luxury of a soothing Jacuzzi bath. Free Wi-Fi and convenient on-site parking added to the overall convenience of my stay.
