Nowhere symbolizes the Adriatic Riviera better than the Italian beach destination of Rimini. A picturesque blend of sun, sand, and sea, Rimini is famed for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant beach clubs, and iconic palm-lined promenades. It is a paradise for those seeking relaxation, fun, sports, entertainment, and culture in one pristine location.
Rimini’s accommodation scene beautifully embodies the region’s beauty, with eye-catching hotels ranging from blissful spa boutiques to grand beachfront resorts. Here are my favourite cool and unusual hotels in Rimini, Italy (in no particular order)...
1. i-Suite Hotel – a fun, cool and trendy boutique hotel that offers picturesque seafront vistas with futuristic interiors perfect for Millenials and Gen Zs
i-Suite is a futuristic design hotel which overlooks the sea. Every detail here is eye-catching and cutting-edge, and I felt like I was on a different planet when I entered the lounge and reception area for the first time.
The white and lime-green colour scheme that runs throughout the hotel is a quirky touch. In the top-floor spa you can relish wide open sea views from the sauna, infinity pool, and relaxation area, in a space which is heated by an open fire. The summertime open-air bar hosts live music several times a week, which brings guests together in celebration of local talent.
Dinner at i-Suite was a highlight for me, courtesy of the chefs who used local ingredients to craft sumptuous seasonal menus.

2. One Design Hotel – a trendy and ultra-contemporary boutique hotel that features beachfront panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea, perfect for Millennials and Gen Zs
Here we have a brand-new boutique hotel set on the Rimini waterfront. A smart atmosphere permeates the property, but this does not compromise on comfort and taste.
The wellness corner is the most idyllic spot to enjoy jaw-dropping ocean views, and accompanies a panoramic terrace equipped with two whirlpools. The innovative design of my bedroom, which was enriched by two stunning showcases of abstract art, brought a unique quirkiness to my stay.
The balcony was amazing, and allowed me to wake up each morning to an awe-inspiring vantage point over the shimmering shoreline. Other exceptional features here are the breakfast, the luxurious and immaculate interiors, and the incredibly modern outdoor spaces.

3. Hotel Corallo Rimini – a fun but relaxed place to explore a Mediterranean experience to discover the best Rimini can offer
The designers behind Hotel Corallo have successfully crafted the perfect retreat, which caters to families, couples, friends groups, and even dogs.
Set right in front of a golden sand beach, the hotel hosts one of Rimini’s first saltwater pools, beside which you can take a peaceful reprieve and savour a tasty drink.
There’s also a cheap and cheerful cafeteria located on-site. We booked one of the classic rooms, and it came with a private balcony overlooking the sea. The in-room comforts were exemplary, from the carefully chosen materials to the smooth wooden furniture, and the extra luxurious bathroom.

4. Grand Hotel Rimini – one of the most Instagrammable upscale hotels in Rimini where guests can appreciate a magnificent view of the Marina Centro
Enchanting passers-by with its statuesque Art Nouveau façade, Grand Hotel Rimini is a legendary hotel surrounded by lush mature gardens with magnolias, roses, and olive & fir trees.
It is one of Rimini’s most prized monuments and has hosted many heads of state and VIPs throughout the past century. The dignified style of the structure is maintained in the 121 spacious guestrooms, all of which feature antique furniture, original wooden floors, and walnut-coloured walls. Mine also had a balcony overlooking the coast, which was a welcome treat!
Lunch and dinner here are both buzzy affairs, and if you’re here during the summer, then you can dine out on the terrace where an atmosphere is set by live music and dancing.

5. DuoMo Hotel – a hip, colourful and vibrant hotel that has been designed by the iconic Israeli architect Ron Arad
Situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Rimini’s historic centre, DuoMo Hotel has a unique character which greets you the minute you arrive at the glossy red doors.
From here, you will enter into a reception area dominated by a futuristic chrome loop, where an urban and contemporary design sets the scene for a lavish stay.
The lighting inside is rather theatrical and ambient, and brings out the bold colour contrasts in the open spaces. Interestingly, the furniture here can actually be bought by guests, as can the many books on display and the other memorabilia around the property.

The elegant, extremely youthful atmosphere really brings the creative pieces to life here, and the colourful artistic theme follows you to the guestrooms.
Each one is styled differently – Mine had striped carpet and walls which contrasted a bright gold with an iridescent shade of pink, and a blue ceiling. The hotel’s design kept me entertained at all times, owing to the countless novelties and quirky artefacts dotted around.
