In BIG Pictures: the best of Canada’s two most beautiful National Parks

Last month our writer Scott Balaam flew with KLM to explore what is arguably one of the world’s most naturally beautiful countries  – Canada. The first country in the world to create the National Parks Service, Canada’s aim was to create vast areas of recreation and of course to protect their stunningly beautiful wilderness landscapes.

All of Canada’s National Parks are remarkable in their own way, but two of the best (and most popular) are Banff and Jasper both located in Canada’s majestic Rocky Mountains. Scott has been lucky enough to explore many countries around the world but he now counts Canada as one of his favourite travel destinations with memories of the awe-inspiring views still lingering on. Here are his favorite Banff and Jasper National Park views in BIG Pictures…

I flew to Alberta as a guest of KLM UK via their hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. My flights to Edmonton were complementary, but return flights with KLM from the UK start from just £599 per person, including taxes. All comments and opinions are, as ever, my own!

Scott started his travelling life back in 1999, when he headed off on a solo jaunt to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia with just a backpack, a camera and a spirit for adventure. After that, the travel bug bit hard and now he is always seeking to head off somewhere new. Over the years he has lived in Italy, Qatar, Ireland and the UK but his spiritual home will always be Rome as this is the city which most satisfies his unrelenting craving for culture, good food and football. Scott loves nothing better than to be behind the camera and has also just started his own blog called Bars and Spas. As well as Rome he also counts Melbourne and Tel Aviv among his favourite places and now permanently resides in Dublin. Follow Scott on Google+ and Twitter
