What you can win – your 10 day Ecuador trip
Your ten day tour will begin in the capital city of Quito which sits high in the Andes. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved and least altered historic centre in Latin America. While in this area you’ll visit the nearby city of Otavalo to see local handicraft villages and surrounding mountain scenery.
Your journey will then continue south along the volcano route where you’ll visit a local market in the town of Latacunga before spending two nights in Riobamba, the third largest city in Ecuador, known locally as the ‘Sultan of the Andes’. Afterwards, you’ll explore the remote mountain village of San Rafael and learn about the Paqocha Alpaca project which re-introduced the native alpaca to provide a sustainable source of income for the community.
You will then ride on the Devil’s Nose train which is widely considered one of the most impressive feats of rail engineering and one of South America’s most desired experiences. After this you’ll spend three nights in Cuenca and enjoy a tour of the historic city and the nearby Saraguro where the people are renowned for their distinctive indigenous dress and handicrafts.
Your final stop is a two-night stay at Hacienda La Danesa, a working farmhouse set in the countryside outside of Guayaquil. There are many activities to choose from including, tubing, cycling and relaxing before heading to Guayaquil for your flight home.

27 July, 2017 at 4:48 pmWhile Ecuador might seem nice, I doubt I would go, even if I won this. But, there is one place that where I spent some time which just might qualify. Deep in some mountains I stumbled across a very unique mountain. The link tells you about it.
I hope one of you enjoy your trip to the Andes.
