The most beautiful beaches in Florida, USA

The Sunshine State is known for its beautiful beaches, whether you want to surf in the azure seas, bask under the glorious rays, hunt for seashells, build castles from the soft shimmering sand, or indulge in some watersports, there is something for everyone’s tastes. Here is our list of the most beautiful beaches to visit in Florida…

Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach Florida

Clearwater Beach is bustling with activity and is one of the most vibrant and exciting beaches. If you are after solitude and serenity then you may want to look elsewhere. If you are after adventure and family fun, then you couldn’t pick a better spot. Every inch of the 3-mile long peninsula is dedicated to enjoyment. Volleyball, parasailing and dolphin watching are all on the menu. There are covered playgrounds, recreation centres and concession stands, as well as museums and other attractions. There are plenty of fine eateries and an abundance of beach-front hotels to choose from. If this doesn’t take your fancy there are also some awesome beaches in Jacksonville, Florida.

South Beach

South Beach Miami

South Beach, Miami is just as action-packed as Clearwater, but it is catered for the 21 plus audience. With a rich abundant nightlife at its core, the days are spent sunbathing with a luxurious cocktail before dancing the night away in one of the legendary clubs. The beaches are lined with palm trees and frequented by buff beach bodies, often working out, taking an early morning run or showing off their perfect forms with some topless sunbathing. As well as the eye candy, there are some beautiful art deco features on South Beach. The stunning architecture even extends to the lifeguard stands. There are plenty of sports on offer and the view of the illuminated thriving city at night from the beach is breathtaking. Click here for our Top 12 cool and unusual hotels in Miami.

Key West

Key West Beach Florida

For those who are more attracted to secluded serenity than cocktail fuelled partying, Key West is a tranquil slice of paradise. The immaculate sand is soft and warm, the waters calm and shimmering. You can indulge in some scuba diving to search for marine life, or hire a glass-bottomed kayak for two for a romantic boat ride with a twist. It’s worth hiring a bicycle and exploring the secret picnic spots and private mini beaches that you come across. Key West is the perfect honeymoon location and here you won’t be short on gorgeous accommodation to choose from.

Sanibel Beach

Sanibel Beach - most beautiful beaches in Florida

Sanibel is scattered with beautiful immaculate seashells, making it a great beach for families and nature lovers. There are a few hidden gems along the stretch of Sanibel sands, such as Lighthouse Beach with its antiquated lighthouse and boardwalk, and the beautifully quiet Bowman’s Beach. There is enough to keep you occupied, great for families with young children and couples alike.

Siesta Key

Siesta Key Florida

The stunning white sands are made up of 99% white quartz, which doesn’t just make them a striking colour with a magical sparkle. The sand is ideal for building sandcastles but also retains its temperature despite the heat, which is very welcome at the height of Summer. Surprisingly, the quartz doesn’t add a roughness to the texture of the sand. In fact, it is beautifully silky and smooth making lying on it or playing in it a real pleasure. The cool sands, ideal sand castles conditions, shallow waters and attentive lifeguards make it the ideal family resort. In fact, the whole area is really kitted out for families, with a plethora of playgrounds, rental properties and family-friendly activities on offer.

Thanks for the list! There are some nice beaches here on the list that I’ve never visited. One of my favs is Manasota because you can find shark teeth on the beach. Fun for kids.
