Gocustomized personalised phone case review

I know many people who are probably with me on this – if you’re a traveller you tend to love anything that reminds you of special travel moments. My home is adorned with many, many images of travel, from framed photos of the multicoloured tin rooftops of a wintery Reykavik to Cuban Revolution fridge magnets bought from one of the only souvenir shops in Havana, pretty much anything that can effectively immortalize my favourite memories. So when GoCustomzied offered me a chance to adorn and embellish something with one of my favourite travel images that I carry with me all the time – my iPhone – then I definitely wasn’t going to say no.

Perfect for seasoned travellers who want to extend their collection of travel paraphernalia or just want to give someone a special personalised gift, Gocustomized is a great young startup which originated in Amsterdam who sell products which give personality and uniqueness to tablets and smartphones in an inexpensive way. They offer personalised phone cases and covers as well as power banks and T-shirts all adorned with the image of your choice.

As I’m always dropping my phone and losing it in my handbag, I opted for a wallet case which not only protects the phone but also has three compartments for credit cards and a large slot for cash money and other things. The case is made of synthetic materials and has a magnetic strap that keeps the phone covered and the phone can be snapped into the case simply and quickly.

The image I opted for wasn’t a tough choice. I choose one of my favourite images from my travels – a Borneo sunset was taken from a private hotel beach in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah’s bustling capital. The unpolluted air, high humidity, dense cloud and tropical climate ensure Borneo’s sunsets are truly magical and one of the most memorable moments of our trip was watching the glorious sunset which painted the sky with a warm glowing palette of oranges, pinks and purples.

The ordering process was very easy and uploading your image to your chosen design was quick and very simple. The case arrived quickly and was impressively packed too. It would definitely make a lovely personal gift and it’s always a good thing to have unique gift ideas in a world where everyone seems to have everything.

The case was excellent quality, very sturdy and worked to protect my phone with also having handy compartments – a great alternative to a travel souvenir which actually serves a purpose too! Nice!

Born in England, with a few family roots from Bavaria, and a heart in Scandinavia I've always been a bit of a restless soul. My first true adventure began as a six month voyage around South East Asia as a fresh faced backpacker and ever since I've lived a semi nomadic existence, clocking up over 40 countries on trips and living in Dublin, South East Asia and Australia. I'm a lover of US Road Trips, deserted beaches bathed in warm glow of a sunset, Cuban mojitos, easy-on-the-eye travel destinations far away from the tourist crowds and all things Scandinavian - from cloudberry liquors to Scandi Noirs. When not wandering the world, you'll find me walking my rescue dog in leafy South West London, strolling around the Brighton Laines on random day trips, hunting for photogenic landscapes or daydreaming about returning to my all time favourite places in the world; Havana, Copenhagen, Italy, Thailand and the frozen landscapes of a wintry Iceland.
