What To Consider When Choosing A Hotel For A Romantic Getaway?
A hotel can be a perfect place to spend a romantic weekend away from everything in a luxury suite, but only if the choice is well-thought-out.
All the latest amenities should be present at the hotel: it does not matter whether you travel with children or without them – what is important is that you will be comfortable. You should pay attention to what is included in the room rate – it’s always better when breakfast and charges for Internet access are already paid. In addition, you can buy valet parking separately or get a package with transfers from/to the airport.
Another important point is transportation. If your accommodation does not have its own garage or parking lot, then think about whether it will be convenient to move around by public transport or taxi because you’ll probably need them during your stay.
Areas of the city where hotels are located may also affect transport accessibility: for example, a historic downtown area makes a room cheaper, but less accessible to public transport.
Another very important point is your right to ask questions before booking a hotel. Read the reviews of real guests – they are full of useful information on all the pros and cons of staying in this or that place.
Before booking, you should think about what you really need such as airport transfers and Wi-Fi (which is usually already included) and how often will you use a swimming pool. After all, going on a romantic date to the gym will not be so romantic after all!
And finally, if your goal is to spend your weekend away romantically, then look for such extra services as a spa, romantic dinners and various wedding festivities (including weddings).
Whether you’re in New York for a long weekend or just looking to get away from the daily grind, there are plenty of romantic things to do. We’ve compiled a list of our favorite date spots that will help you plan your perfect trip! What’s on top of your must-do list? Share with us and we’ll help make it happen!

Born in England, with a few family roots from Bavaria, and a special fondness for Scandinavia I’ve always been a bit of a restless soul. My first true adventure began as a six month voyage around South East Asia as a fresh faced backpacker and ever since I’ve lived a semi nomadic existence, clocking up visits to over 40 countries. I’m a lover of US Road Trips, deserted beaches bathed in warm glow of a sunset, Cuban mojitos, travel destinations far away from the tourist crowds and all things Scandinavian – from cloudberry liquors to Nordic noirs. When not wandering the world, you’ll find me walking my rescue dog in leafy South West London, strolling around the Brighton Laines on random day trips, hunting for photogenic landscapes or daydreaming about returning to my favourite places; Havana, Copenhagen, Italy, Thailand and the frozen landscapes of a wintry Iceland.
