20 of the most beautiful places to visit in Switzerland

Taking your photos to the next level using Zoner Photo Studio X

When you travel, you actually travel three times. What the heck am I talking about? Let me explain. First and in advance, you do all of the planning, second, when actually visit your dream destination, and finally the third is when you return, daydream and reflect on all your adventures. Those with cameras, spend a great deal of time in the third phase with editing their photos.

You might have heard about Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. But what if you find their offer on the pricier side and simply put, you are not a professional photographer or graphic designer who is willing to learn all the tools just to get started?

I would like to introduce Zoner Photo Studio X. Software that caters to photographers and focuses on the photos so you get the most out of your memories, fast. Speed is where Zoner Photo Studio shines. It is an all-in-one solution with no need to switch to additional applications. Yup, everything under one roof, in a single program that guides you through the photographer workflow from A to Z.

Zoner Photo Studio X’s user interface is divided into 4 modules. Manager, Develop, Editor and Create. Each is specially designed for particular tasks.

Managing and selecting your best shots

Have you traveled around the world (like beautiful Zurich pictured above) and would like to get an overview of where you have been, scanning over vast amounts of land via your finger and mouse? You can do it easily using Map view in the Manager module of Zoner Photo Studio X. Also, locations are categorized in the Locations list view, where you can navigate through the list of countries and all the way down through to a small village or even a national park you’ve visited.

For managing your photos, you’ll find additional tools in your arsenal. Manage and cull your images using star ratings, color labels and keywords. If you forgot to change in-camera time and date due to a time-zone shift don’t worry, you can use the batch EXIF data modification tool and adjust values automatically for multiple images.

Tweaking and making your photos pop

Have you selected your cream of the crop, the best photos? Now comes the time for editing and adjustments in the Develop module. If you shoot RAW image files you’ll benefit from the non-destructive editing philosophy in this module.  You can utilize a high dynamic range of your camera and adjust exposure or recover shadows to great extent without any artifacts.

To speed up the process, you can use Automatic adjustments and presets. Automatic adjustments will correct the overall image by adjusting exposure, shadows and saturation.

By using presets you can quickly color tone or add various vintage looks to your photos. Presets are a  great way to start experimenting with coloring. Also, you can get inspired by built-in presets, tweak sliders and save your own versions of modified presets or create entirely new ones that reflect your unique style. Presets can be exported so you can openly share them with your friends or sell them online. On Zoner Photo Studio’s website, you can also find additional preset packs free of charge.

Unleashing creative possibilities in Editor

The Editor module is the place to replace skies in landscape photos, change backgrounds within your portraits or do a composite image with multiple layers and masks. You can save files in Zoner Photo Studio format so you can edit them anytime again, later. And to get you started, check out multiple tutorials at learn.zoner.com or watch how-to videos on Zoner Photo Studio’s Youtube channel.

Create sleek video clips, collages or printed photo products

Lake Constance Switzerland

After you’ve selected your best shots and made your photos shine in the Develop module, you can make use of the Create module. Build an aesthetically pleasing photo collage with an automatic content-aware fill, that will arrange multiple photos even with a different aspect ratio without any cropping. Create a diary of similarly themed photos like food, flowers or architecture details that would suit a collage format. If you also record videos, you can cut and create video clips or a timelapse by using a built-in video editor. It comes with multiple videos and audio tracks, animations and the ability to create a timelapse. You can also order printed photo products like a photobook, calendar or canvas prints directly in the program.

Sharing your photos

The last step of a photographer’s workflow is to share the images. You can optimize your photos for Instagram sharing or upload them online to the unlimited Zonerama gallery in full-resolution without compromising on resolution or image compression. You have control over the privacy of your albums too. Make them public or private. The good news is that you can create export presets for a specific purpose and run several of them at once –  for example, export photos to your hard drive and Zonerama simultaneously.

Give it a try, you’ve got nothing to lose! Download the free 30-day trial version on their website, without entering any credit card details. I can assure you Zoner Photo Studio X will make editing photos easier and faster so you can spend more time traveling or planning the next big thing with your friends.
